The Nail Defender directions start with two words: clean and dry. Washing is easy to remember. Drying is the step most people rush. Here is why it matters and how to do it well.
Why dry nails come first
Water on the nail mixes with the spray and spreads it thin. A dry nail lets the formula sit right where you want it. Dry skin around the nail also helps the nourishing oils feel light instead of slippery.
How to dry properly
- Use a clean towel just for your feet.
- Pat, do not rub, each toe and nail.
- Press the towel gently between each toe.
- Give your feet a minute of air if you can.
Moisture during the day
Feet can get damp inside shoes. Socks made from breathable fabrics help, and so does changing socks if they get wet. Our socks and shoes guide explains more.
After swimming or the gym
Shared showers and pools leave feet wet for longer. Dry well afterward, then spray. A small bottle in your gym bag makes this easy.
Clean, then dry, then spray. Get the order right and the rest is easy.
